I carry my sketchbook absolutely everywhere! Not only is it a great way to keep my eyes sharp, it has helped tremendously during the initial concept phases, framing, and set design.
Watercolor has quickly become one of my favorite mediums. Here’s one of my favorite projects - an hand-bound and illustrated book titled Perfumed Words, a story of loss and self-discovery told by flowers and their given meanings.
Learning printmaking and bookbinding has been such a blessing in the commercial print space, as well as connecting with cultural roots. Through woodblock carving, paper making, suminigashi, embossing, and screenprinting, I've learned an appreciation for different substrates, foils, inks and how colors can interact with one another.
